About Dr. Ruth Lieu

Clinical Training

Dr. Ruth Lieu received her clinical training in some of the most selective training hospitals and clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her clinical skills were honed through providing care to clients with different levels of symptom severity, diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds, and variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.  

Napa State Hospital – Napa State is one of the top American Psychological Association accredited internships in the Bay Area. Dr. Lieu conducted assessments and treated patients with severe illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, and extensive trauma. 

RAMS – RAMS (Richmond Area Multi-Services) is a National Asian American Psychology Training Center. Dr. Lieu treated patients from the San Francisco Asian community who struggled with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, schizophrenia, PTSD, and panic attacks among other conditions.

Kaiser Permanente – Kaiser is one of the largest HMOs in the Bay Area. Dr. Lieu worked with individuals, couples, and groups. She treated patients seeking help with relationship problems, mood disorders, trauma, and parenting difficulties.
